In the early to mid-eighties Porsche had a large presence on the European rally circuit with the now legendary Rothmans backed 911 SC RS. Entered and run by Prodrive these finely tuned rallying 911s had a huge amount of success and were piloted by some of the world’s best drivers.
Here, the ridiculously talented and always crowd pleasing young Finn, Henri Toivonen, powers around a tight left on his way to victory in 1984 Ypres 24 Hours Rally. The tight and twisty tarmac stages were no trouble for Toivonen who put on a spectacular show in the monster Group B 911.
