After years of Porsche dominance in GT racing the men from Munich decided to fight fire with fire and create a machine capable of dethroning the mighty 911. The result was the all-conquering BMW M3 GTR, a V8 powered, super wide bodied E46 M3.
The car achieved huge success in GT racing across the globe including back-to-back outright victories at the legendary Nurburgring 24 Hours in 2004 & 2005.
Here, car number 2 (driven to victory by Pedro Lamy, Boris Said, Duncan Huisman and Andy Priaulx) has a huge moment in the early hours. The dramas during the night often go unseen at endurance races but all too often they come thick and fast – especially when you spend all night racing in the green hell.
