The man, the myth, the legend that is Colin McRae blasts over a crest and on into a wet and dark Dyfi forest to start the final leg of the 1995 Network Q RAC Rally. The event really was a McRae masterpiece with the Scot putting on a spectacular display of on the limit car control, flat over crests and sideways at every opportunity.
Stage after stage McRae was untouchable, taking huge chunks of time out of his rivals and pleasing the thousands of British fans who had descended on North Wales just to see him in action. Not only did Colin win the event but with it he secured the World Rally Drivers Title and the Constructers Title for Subaru and Prodrive. The Scot’s impact on not only the sport, but driving culture, was just beginning…
