The idea for this illustration had been in my head for a little while; James Hunt in the ’73 Hesketh Racing 911 2.7RS, in his beloved playground of Marbella, Spain, with a beautiful young lady throwing her bikini out of the window.
I really wanted to create an image that captures not only an iconic driver in an iconic car but also some of the hedonistic care free fun James was so famously known for. He was the ultimate playboy after all, who else could have a patch sewn onto their race suit with the immortal line ‘Sex, breakfast of champions’.
